Today you will be researching the Earth's Biomes. You are to use the sites below and only the sites below to answer the webquest questions as well as filling out your chart. You may follow the links within the sites that pertain to biomes. You are NOT to go to google or yahoo or any other search engine. Everything you need can be found in one of these sites. You need to read and look before you ask me...

Task One

You should go to the following site and read the material presented to answer the first set of questions.

You can use any of the following websites to fill in the chart for the characteristics of the major biomes found on Earth.

This is a great site with lots of information -- click on the icon for the biome and then navigate through the site. HINT -- the Temperate icon is for decidious forest.

Frog Dissection

curryToday, you will be dissecting frogs virtually. You should go to each of these sites in order and then answer the question on your webquest sheet. Do not skip around and make sure that you are reading and participating in all the activities. This will help you prepare for tomorrow!!!

Frog Dissection Lab

1. This lab is basically exterior and interior pictures of the frog that are labeled!!
2. This is a good site to use for your diagragm.
3. You should start by clicking on the "Start the Virtual...." link and then click the next at the bottom right corner.
4. Make sure you look at the pictures closely and read the material that goes with each picture.

Frog Dissection Lab

The next site you should visit is Net Frog.
1. You should click on Begin Dissection.
2. Make sure you read each page and study the pictures.
3. Some of the steps have a "Try It" link and you should do just that and try it yourself.

Net Frog

The last site you will visit is Frog Guts

1. You should look in the right hand corner of this site and click on the word demo.
2. On the next page, you will click begin which is located on the right side about middle ways down.
3. This site is very good and you should use it to write down the list of steps in order for the dissection.

Frog Guts

If you finish early, then you may go back to the beginning of the Frog Guts Demo site and you can try dissecting the owl pellet and put the animal back together!!!
